Why my blog has not been updated for an entire year, you might ask? Well here’s why.
What are you afraid of? Spiders? Terrorism? Elevators? Snakes on a Plane? Clowns (well actually I’m a little afraid of clowns, but that is a topic for discussion in a later blog post)
Well I am afraid of failure, it’s actually a quite crippling fear. I don’t want anyone to know that I might not be able to do something. I blame the baby boomer generation who told all their kids (me) they could be anything they wanted to be. So I could be a millionaire-lawyer-astronaut-Olympic gymnast? “Yes, you can be what ever you want!”
I was afraid that if I started blogging about another “weight loss journey” and then made no progress, like in the past, it would be quite embarrassing to have to own up to that to the three people who read my blog. I know I’m a wimp, but hey it’s the truth. The fear and shame that I might have happened, kept me from blogging. After almost a year of making slow but steady progress, I now think that it’s okay to start blogging. How ridiculous! I agree.
